Description
There’s not a lot that needs to said about loaded smashed potatoes with cheese, bacon, and sour cream. A delicious combination that doesn’t need to be “sold” to anyone. This recipe is creamy, cheesy, and OH so delicious. And like all my favorite recipes, you can easily tweak it to make it your own! Add your favorite baked potato toppings and it’ll be delicious.

- 5-6 medium sized potatoes washed and cubed (don’t have to be peeled)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 T butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 oz shredded cheese of choice (I like sharp cheddar)
- 3T Bacon Bits or chopped bacon
- 2T green onion (optional)
Instructions
- Add potatoes to boiling salted water.
- Cook until fork tender, approximately 12-15 minutes on medium high.
- Meanwhile, mix together all other ingredients in a bowl.
- Drain potatoes and add to the bowl.
- Mix with all other ingredients and smash with a potato masher or meat chopper. We like to leave ours chunky but mash to your desired consistency.
