Description
This healthy turkey burger recipe makes by far the juiciest and most delicious turkey burger you’ll ever eat. It’s so good it can turn even the most adamant beef burger eater into a turkey burger fan. It can be grilled, cooked on the stovetop, and even cooked in the oven or in the air fryer. Simple. Healthy. Yummy. Perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.25 lb lean ground turkey (97/3)
- 1 cup shredded zucchini (about one medium zucchini)
- 2–3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 2T Worcheshire sauce
- 1T Avocado Oil to rub on grill pan or skillet
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- Optional: wheat bread crumbs to bind for grilling if needed
- Five whole wheat buns
- Five slices cheese of choice (I like sharp cheddar)
- Toppings of choice: sauteed onions, mushrooms, avocado, red onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles
Instructions
- Shred Zucchini. I swear by a rotary shredder/grater/slicer combo. It’s affordable and a workhorse in the kitchen.
- Mince garlic.
- Combine seasonings, zucchini, and ground turkey in a bowl.
- Create 5-7 patties (depending upon your preferred size).
- Cook on the grill using a grill pan turning halfway until an internal temperature of 165 degrees is reached. We swear by the Yummly wireless smart thermometer which makes cooking meat SO easy. You can also cook these on the stove, in the oven, or in an air fryer.
- Remove from the heat.
- Add to bun or lettuce and top with cheese and toppings of choice.
Notes
Make Dijonaise by mixing equal parts Dijon mustard and light Mayo
This also makes great sliders served on Hawaiian rolls.
