This blender hummus recipe is a family favorite for good reason—it’s smooth, flavorful, and perfect for everything from lunchboxes to party platters. With just a few ingredients and a trusty blender, you’ll have a delicious dip ready in no time.

- 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed (or 1.5 cups cooked chickpeas, drained and rinsed)
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1–3 cloves garlic (start with one and adjust to taste)
- 2–3 tbsp fresh lemon juice (juice of approximately one lemon)
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp salt (or more, if desired)
- 1/4 tsp paprika (plus more for garnish)
- 2–4 tbsp cold water or more (as needed for blending)
Instructions
- Cook dried chickpeas according to package directions if using (otherwise, open canned chickpeas)
- Drain and rinse chickpeas.
- Add all ingredients except water to your blender.
- Start blending on low, gradually increasing to high speed. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time until your desired consistency is reached.
- Taste and adjust – add more lemon, salt, or garlic to your liking.
- Scoop into a serving bowl.
- Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika or any other desired toppings.
- Serve with pita, veggies, or as a sandwich spread.
Notes
This is a great base recipe to make any of your favorite hummus flavors. Consider adding in roasted garlic, roasted red bell peppers, or jalapeno and cilantro. The sky is the limit!
