Slow Cooker BBQ Boneless Ribs (Crockpot Recipe)
One thing you’ll consistently hear me talk about on this blog is the fond memories I have surrounding meals shared with loved ones. As a Southern gal raised surrounded by many incredible cooks, I have SO many stories of eating great food and making great memories in the kitchen.
One story my family LOVES to tell every time we eat BBQ ribs is about my reaction the first time I ever saw or ate them as a kid. My Aunt Kathy, another great cook in our family, served them up to us when I was maybe six years old and my reaction apparently was so bold no one has forgotten it in 30+ years.
In my thick country accent, as she put my plate in front of me, I yelled, “WHAT IS THAT THANG? THAT THANG’LL KILL ME!”
I can’t even think about this moment without laughing hysterically. I can’t believe I legitimately thought my wonderful, loving Aunt would serve me a meal that would cause my ultimate demise.
Anyway, I’m SURE the kiddos in your life will react way better to your serving this meal than I did when it was served to me. And if they don’t, at least you’ll have a fun story to tell for the rest of their lives! Haha.
Why This BBQ Ribs Crockpot Recipe Works

- Makes Great Leftovers: These saucy BBQ ribs can be repurposed into so many meals! Shredded pork sandwiches, quesadillas, salads, and more.
- No Prep Needed: Throw all the ingredients into the crockpot and go! This is perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients In Boneless Ribs Crockpot Recipe:
- 3 lb. country style boneless ribs

- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- Salt and pepper to taste (approximately 1 tsp each)
How to Make Boneless BBQ Country Style Ribs in the Crockpot:
Does it even count as directions if there’s only one step?? You certainly have come to the right blog if you like short and sweet, simple to follow recipes! Here’s all you have to do!
- Add all ingredients to slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours
- Optional: After cooking, transfer meat and sauce to an oven safe dish and broil until golden brown. This adds a nice texture by thickening the sauce as well as a depth of flavor by browning/caramelizing the barbecue. It is still delicious without this step if you’re pressed for time or don’t want to dirty an extra dish.

FAQ
Do country style ribs get more tender the longer they cook?
Yes! This is why a crockpot/slow cooker is a great way to cook this cut of meat. Cooking them on low for a long time breaks down the meat, making it juicy and tender.
What’s the difference between country style ribs and boneless ribs?
Country style ribs are typically boneless. They don’t even actually come from the ribs of the animal, they come from the shoulder area.
Why are my ribs tough?
If your ribs are tough, you likely didn’t cook them long enough. Keep cooking!
Why are my ribs dry?
If your ribs are dry, you probably cooked them too hot and fast.
Can you overcook boneless pork ribs?
Not really! This low and slow cooking method is great because they just get more and more tender over time.
I hope you enjoy this simple, delicious recipe as much as my family does! I’m so glad it didn’t *ACTUALLY* kill me when I was six so that I can now make it for my own family and kids! 🙂
